New Delhi, YOGRAJ SHARMA.  The (AIGNF) has announced a daily 2-hour strike from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM across four Central Government hospitals, starting May 25, 2026, in protest against the proposed outsourcing of nursing services. The federation stated that the protest reflects the unity and determination of the nursing fraternity against policies they believe threaten job security and professional dignity.

According to AIGNF, the protest follows several months of peaceful demonstrations and representations submitted to the government. These included black badge protests, dharnas at , and notices regarding mass casual leave and indefinite strike warnings issued earlier this year.

The federation said that during a meeting held on March 10, 2026, the government had assured nursing representatives that outsourcing would not be implemented. However, AIGNF alleges that steps toward outsourcing are continuing despite these assurances.

AIGNF emphasized that nurses have continued to perform their duties responsibly during protests, ensuring that patient care remains unaffected. The federation warned that if their demands are ignored, the agitation may escalate into mass casual leave and an indefinite strike.

The organization has appealed to the Government of India to recognize the critical role of nurses in the healthcare system and address their concerns promptly to avoid disruption in public healthcare services.
